If you’ve been following our recent #RebootOT campaign, you probably guessed that we’ve had something big in the works. This morning, we announced that Online Tech has changed its name to Otava – and, we have a comprehensive, shiny new brand to go with it!
Becoming Otava is a natural progression from our global growth as both a channel-ready partner and an enterprise cloud solutions provider. Starting with the infusion of investment capabilities by Schurz Communications in February 2018 and bolstered by the December 2018 acquisition of the global cloud infrastructure assets of Neverfail, the company has had really strong momentum. The new name positions the company as a unique leader in the IT market, backed by a support team committed to an unprecedented level of excellence.
Here’s what Otava CEO Brad Cheedle had to say:
“The Online Tech name served us very well for 25 years, but as we continue to grow across the country and around the world, it is important to evolve the brand to better reflect our bold people, partnerships and purpose. Otava is a name that perfectly suits our company’s mission to continuously raise the bar in cloud services through our dedicated, client-focused support and operations teams.”
We picked the name Otava because the word means to take a musical note an octave higher (and we are committed to elevating ourselves and our customer experience); and, in Finnish it also refers to Ursa Major, one of the largest and brightest constellations in the night sky. In addition to the corporate name change, we have a new logo featuring a circle resting atop a gently arching line that represents the company’s rebirth and dedication to rising above all expectations. The tagline ‘expect exceptional,’ was also introduced as evidence of Otava’s commitment to deliver exceptional experiences to all current and future clients and channel partners.
According to Cheedle, “Expect exceptional is more than a tagline; it’s a promise that our client-first, never-stop mindset is ingrained in our culture. Everyone at Otava is passionate about the common purpose of providing service and results beyond anyone’s expectations. Our people drive and innovate the solutions that have allowed us to earn our customers’ trust by partnering to help them stay competitive in their industries.”
