David is a managing director with UHY Advisors. He is also a leader of the Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance practice, which provides consulting and audit services around information technology controls, information risk management, and compliance. David has over 25 years of practical experience in information systems and technology risk and controls.
David has extensive expertise in IT compliance and attestation, including Service Organization Controls, HIPAA and HITRUST, PCI-DSS, Financial Services, and SOX IT general and application controls. He also has experience in IT internal auditing, COSO framework, CObIT framework, IT risk assessments and control evaluations.
David is frequently asked to speak at national and regional events, such as SecureWorld and the Cloud Security Alliance Congress. He is the primary author of the CSA position paper on AICPA Service Organization Control Reports. He also regularly provides his input and opinions for national publications such as Compliance Week, Accounting Today, and the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He has served as an analyst for News 11 in Atlanta and has hosted an Online Tech webinar on applying OCR audit standards to HIPAA risk assessments.
