OTAVA® in the Community

We’re doing our part to make the world a better place.

Community Involvement

OTAVA’s people-first values extend into supporting our neighbors. We’re active in local communities, donating our time to help others. Our employees often volunteer as a group, teaming up to make a positive impact. Additionally, employees are encouraged to take time to contribute to organizations or causes close to their hearts.

  • Feed My Starving Children During company meetings in Arizona, our team spent part of their time packing meals for children in the Philippines. We were able to pack up enough food to feed 56 children for a year.
  • Midwest Food Bank OTAVA employees, along with team members from Schurz Communications and NK Telco helped package 270 boxes of bread. These boxes were distributed to food banks in the Indianapolis area.
  • Food Gatherers Ann Arbor This organization supports 170 community partners with free and low-cost food, deliveries and training. Our team helped sort food, stock the pantry, and get food ready for distribution. OTAVA team members dedicated 48 hours of their time and helped rescue 2,139 pounds of produce. Sustainability Goals

OTAVA is dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment. We’re implementing changes at our data centers to save energy, reduce our footprint, and promote a greener future. Learn more about our efforts to create a more sustainable future.

At all of our enterprise OTAVA sites, we are working towards replacing our fluorescent lighting with LED and added motion sensors to largely reducing our energy usage.

Through electrical usage studies, faster decommissions, and upgrading power components, OTAVA will close the gap on IT load and building load for better POE.

OTAVA is auditing all of our spaces for cooling requirements and needs. We plan to adjust units, add containment, and implement variable fan speeds instead of having the fans run at 100% day and night. By lowering the runtime of cooling units, we will use far less energy.

Our team met with one of our energy providers to discuss its renewable energy program. Working with the provider, OTAVA will help reduce the carbon intensity of the grid in Michigan.

We are researching options and plan to upgrade to hardware that minimizes power consumption and our footprint. Using less power and cooling will be beneficial to our clients, infrastructure, and the environment.
