Online Tech World Tour: G’Day from Sydney!

Welcome to the Land Down Under! After a long flight (literally 24 hours of traveling!) After leaving from Indianapolis, I’ve made it to Sydney, Australia! I have to say, it was absolutely worth the long flight. Checking out the sights has been amazing, and I’ve been trying to imitate the Australian accent–but without any luck.

Of course, I’ve been continuing my world tour of Online Tech’s locations, and now I’m visiting one of their newest cloud nodes in Sydney!

Here are some cool facts I learned during my tour today:

1. The data center is owned by Equinix, which is one of the largest data center operators in the world!
2. There are over 150 network providers that offer services to the Sydney data center, so there’s plenty of options to choose for you or your clients.
3. The cloud node is part of the largest interconnected data center campus in all of Australia, spanning more than 200,000 square feet across seven buildings networked between two campuses, so you have the most flexibility and redundancy options.
4. The Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric™ allows cloud providers the ability to quickly and easily offer direct cloud access services globally.

All in all, the facility was simply stunning, and clearly offers enough power, redundancy and cloud services options to meet the needs of even the largest companies.
