Online Tech Hits the Road for HIMSS Events in Iowa, Indiana

Press & News

The company will appear at the Indiana HIMSS Fall Technology Conference from Nov. 6-7 at the Indianapolis Marriott North.

One week later, from Nov. 11-13, the Online Tech team will head to the Midwest HIMSS Fall Technology Conference at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown. That event is hosted by the Iowa Chapter of HIMMS in partnership with the Greater Chicago, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin Dairyland chapters of the national organization.

Both conferences will bring together health IT professionals to share the ways they’re using innovative systems and technology for health IT success. The Midwest conference will also feature tracked breakout sessions. Find complete details at FallTechnologyConference.org.

As the only independently HIPAA audited hosting provider in the country offering a complete range of hosting options, Online Tech partners with many healthcare-related companies to bring cutting edge technologies to the healthcare field.

Three recent new partners include:

  • HipaaCat, a HIPAA compliant communication system for healthcare providers to exchange data and images between their smartphones. The brainchild of Dr. Gregory Dumanian and created by Illinois-based I.T. consulting firm SD3, HipaaCat is a complete solution that can transfer data and images to and from multiple mobile application devices (including iPhones, iPads, Android and Android tablets) via a secure central server with data encryption at every stage.
  • ForaCare recently contracted with Online Tech for HIPAA compliant managed cloud hosting for its TeleHealth System. This interactive, Internet-based platform allows healthcare providers and patients to communicate via home monitoring devices. Healthcare providers and physicians can track patients’ vital signs every day and make recommendations or adjustments quickly. By closely monitoring their patients’ conditions, physicians can delay complications and potentially avoid patient hospitalization.
  • iRounds, a physician-owned provider of mobile and web platforms for patient care communication in a secure and HIPAA compliant format, selected Online Tech as their trusted hosting business associate. By using Online Tech’s cloud hosting services, iRounds can avoid the burden of purchasing and maintaining HIPAA compliant facilities and servers. They can also add servers very quickly and inexpensively as their business grows.

Online Tech’s three Michigan data centers and its entire staff meet HIPAA compliance standards. An independent Certified HIPAA Security Specialist (CHSS) found the company to be 100% compliant across all 54 standards of the Administrative (164.308), Physical (164.310), Technical (164.312) and Organizational (164.314) Safeguards detailed in the HIPAA Security Rule. The rule states that covered entities and their business associates must protect the availability, integrity and confidentiality of PHI (protected health information), and report any violations of PHI misuse to the Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
