Q: What was announced and what does it mean?

A: Otava announced it has acquired Colorado-based cloud services provider NewCloud Networks.

The acquisition enhances Otava’s Cloud Backup, Disaster Recovery, Private Cloud and Security solutions portfolio and it adds Desktop as a Service capabilities as well. NewCloud brings a diverse nationwide 10Gb network and the combined organization will now have points of presence in Denver, Phoenix, Dallas, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Cleveland, New York, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Ann Arbor, Flint, Las Vegas, Austin, Washington DC, as well as Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, Germany and Manchester, United Kingdom, significantly increasing Otava’s global footprint. The acquisition also adds a growing base of enterprise and channel customers. Otava’s employee count expands by approximately a third as a result of the deal.

Q: What will happen to the NewCloud brand?

A: For the remainder of 2021, NewCloud Networks will operate separately as “NewCloud, an Otava Company.”

A new combined company is anticipated to debut in early 2022 with a combined brand, product portfolio and client support model.

 

Q: What does this mean if I’m an existing customer of NewCloud?

A: There will be no disruption or change to existing cloud services or customer services.

All products, ordering, invoicing, support processes, sales and support personnel will remain the same for all customers for the remainder of 2021. NewCloud customers will not transition to Otava until 2022 thereby ensuring dedicated focus for each existing relationship.

Effective immediately current and new NewCloud customers will be able to purchase Otava solutions (featuring Colocation, Hybrid Cloud hosting, Disaster Recovery with Zerto and VMware, Cloud Backup, Security and more).

Both NewCloud and Otava offer extensive technical expertise and high-touch consultative services making the migration to cloud-based solutions through the combined companies easier than ever.

 

Q: What does this mean if I’m an existing customer of Otava?

A: There will be no disruption or change to existing cloud services or customer services.

All ordering, invoicing, support processes, sales and support personnel will remain the same for all customers for the remainder of 2021.

Effective immediately, current and new Otava customers will be able to purchase solutions from NewCloud’s product portfolio (featuring Production Cloud, Veeam-Based Backup and Disaster Recovery, Desktop as a Service and enhanced Managed Security Services).

Both NewCloud and Otava offer extensive technical expertise and high-touch consultative services making the migration to cloud-based solutions easier than ever.

 

Q: What does this mean if I’m an existing partner of Otava or NewCloud?

A: For existing partners of NewCloud and Otava, all contracts, processes, support personnel, invoices and systems will remain the same for the remainder of 2021.

The acquisition of NewCloud will provide existing Otava and NewCloud partners with the same enhanced product portfolio of solutions. White label services will also be expanded for partner-branded services.
